š PINEAPPLE MOTIF
The beautiful square motif is worked in 9 rounds, beginning from a small center ring.
As you crochet outward, double crochet groups and chain arches gradually develop into the distinctive pineapple lace design. The final round transforms the motif into a square with long corner loops ready for joining.
The PDF includes the original crochet chart together with written round-by-round instructions and photographs.
šŖ” JOIN-AS-YOU-GO CONSTRUCTION
The motifs can be joined while crocheting Round 9.
Instead of completing a normal chain loop, part of the chain is worked, joined to the corresponding point of the neighboring motif with a slip stitch, and then completed.
Detailed instructions explain:
⢠How to join two motifs
⢠How to join smaller and larger chain spaces
⢠How to connect three or four motifs at intersections
⢠Correct motif orientation
⢠How to avoid puckering
⢠Where to intentionally leave sections unjoined for the armholes
š CARDIGAN ASSEMBLY
The construction is unusual but very clever.
The motifs are first arranged into a rectangular panel. Specific vertical sections are intentionally left unjoined to create the two armholes.
When worn, the center motif columns sit across the back while the outer columns wrap around the body to become the open fronts.
The PDF includes separate diagrams showing exactly where the armhole openings are positioned for both size groups.
⨠DECORATIVE EDGING
After assembling and checking the fit, a beautiful 3-round lace edging is added around the exposed cardigan edges.
The edging includes:
⢠Chain-5 foundation arches
⢠7-double-crochet shells
⢠Chain-loop sections
⢠Open decorative fans
⢠Shallow scalloped finishing edge

š„ PLEASE NOTE
THIS LISTING IS FOR A DIGITAL PDF CROCHET PATTERN ONLY.
No finished cardigan, yarn, crochet hook or physical product will be shipped.
Because the source pattern does not provide numeric finished garment measurements, the PDF recommends making and blocking a test motif and trying on the assembled motif body before adding the final edging.
